Volunteers of Cambridge Museum of Technology (in partnership with Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group) will be offering 30-minute guided-heritage walks during the 2025 Chesterton Festival. Explore Chesterton’s industrial heritage – including Pye's development of radio, television, radar and and mobile communications.
The step-free route will follow pavements and dedicated pedestrian paths from Chesterton Recreation Ground (via Church Street / St Andrew's Road) across the Equiano bridge to the River Cam.
ABOUT THE FREE, GUIDED INDUSTRIAL-HERITAGE WALKS
Length (distance): approximately 30 minutes (<1km)
Suitable for ages 12+.
All-weather (come suitably prepared!)
No need to book: meet at the designated Chesterton Festival signage for Cambridge Museum of Technology on Chesterton recreation ground (CB4 1DT) at least 5 minutes before tour time
free walk (N.B. this walking tour does NOT include admission to Museum of Technology). More guided walks offered by Cambridge Industrial Archaeology Group in partnership with the Museum.
