Halloween @ CMT

On Thursday 31st October, we will be open until 7pm for a spook-tacular time at the Museum. Come join us for some thrilling halloween crafts, creep around our buildings, and see if you can spot our ghoulish rats!

Entrance to the Museum will be as usual. Children in costumes will enter for free!

Have other frieghtening plans that day? Any child passing by in costume may pop in to our ticket desk and ‘trick or treat’ at the Museum!

Pye, What Happened Next

Come take a peek at our temporary exhibition, What Happens Next! The exhibtion follows the Pye Company after the group was acquired by Phillips in 1967. Come along and see some of the products that continued to evolve under new identities, propelling Cambridge into the forefront of technical innovation.

Enterance to the exhibition is included within museum admission. To find out more about Pye, Philips, and our exhibition, do check out the exhibtion’s webpage!

Food for the Planet Festival, 26th October

We all know the story of Jack, whose life got a whole lot better with the help of some magic beans… Now Cambridge Sustainable Food and friends are inviting you on an adventure into the wonderful world of beans at this year’s Food for the Planet Festival so we can all learn to be a little more like Jack.

Steam Up!, 3rd November

A great day out for all the family. Have all your senses stimulated by our magnificent steam engines running in public again following an extensive restoration program. This has been made possible by many thousands of volunteer hours and over £100,000 funding from local donations, Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic England and Architectural Heritage Fund.

Fantastic Hospitality

There are more ways than just visiting the museum to experience our unique site!

Each day, the best coffee in Cambridgeshire can be found at Kerb Kollective, situation on our lower yard. These coffee experts serve a range of hot and cold beverages, not to mention some absolutely scrumptious buns and pastries!

From Wednesday to Sundays, the Engineer’s House will be open each evening (plus from 12pm on the weekend!), serving Calverley Brewery’s delightful craft beers and Al Forno’s delicious pizzas. The Engineer’s House is located next to the museum and has a wonderful view overlooking the river.

Full information about our hospitality parters and their opening times may be found here.
